A new method against genetically modified salmon: Get retailers to refuse to sell it, Washington Post 10/18/13. KBC NOTE: Obama bailed this GM salmon company, made Monsanto attorney his FDA food czar, created Monsanto Protection Act, and his administration stated they want the Klamath Hydroelectric dams to be destroyed, which destroys the Klamath fish hatcheries producing millions of salmon, claiming to want only "wild salmon" in the rivers for health reasons....?
Cost questions follow
discovery of (Monsanto) genetically modified wheat in Oregon,
H&N 6/2/13. "...wheat
industry stands to lose $94 to $272 million annually if genetically modified
wheat is introduced. The USDA announced the discovery of the Monsanto-owned
strain on Wednesday. It led to Japan postponing a 25,000-ton order from a
Portland grain shipper..."
WHY Destroy the Klamath River? the Obama administration supports the KBRA / Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement, which will hugely permanently downsize agriculture and demolish fish hatcheries and 4 hydroelectic dams and on the Klamath, releasing 20 MILLION cubic yards of sediment. Klamath Dam removal is in the guise of having superior "Wild" salmon propagate, thus destroying millions of hatchery salmon. Dam removal could destroy every living creature in the river. Then comes Obama's Genetically Engineered Frankenfish, but can his Frankenfish find it's was through 20 million cubic yards of muck? Are genetically engineered Frankenfish superior to hatchery fish that are genetically equal to wild salmon?
Scientist testifies against GE fish ban, label bill, Capital Press, posted to KBC 3/22/13. "They grow fast. They grow large. And they are aggressive, and they can outcompete for habitat," Holvey said of the GE fish. "This is too big a risk for us to take to watch the native species of Pacific salmon potentially get decimated."
